Alright, let's talk. Grab a martini (or two)
Ciao my fellow readers. My name is Bella and I live in the epicentre of fashion and hustle, otherwise known as Manhattan. I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Economics and Italian Langauge. I eat and breathe fashion and runway, and I drink martinis on the reg.
Anna Wintour once said that fashion can be intimidating, uncomfortable even. While I don't disagree, I find inherent beauty in the discomfort. Fashion is whatever you want it to be so long as you do it with confidence. And if you have to fake it, at least do it until you make it.
Eighteen hours in Paris? Done. Twenty-four hours in Copenhagen? Meet you in Nyhaven. The unknown becomes known and strangers become stories. Transience is engrained in my being and my soul, which is why I am here to share my travel and style tips that I've picked up along the way.
I've found music to be the best way to share pieces of myself. Wake up with Kaytranada, lunch over Danish rap, make dinner to Angèle and toss in literally anything in between. And as a southerner, I of course have to throw in some down south tunes.
Pre fall is hard to explain. The overt simplicity makes you feel slightly overwhelmed, excited, and invokes an urgency to take stock of your wardrobe. The ambiguity of the term matches the exact purpose of a pre-fall collection, so I’ll try to explain. Pre-fall is typically sold in May, which can be tough because it’s summer, blazing hot, and no one wants to try on a wool coat or a rib knit dress while they’re sweating. The season encapsulates a wide variety of pieces versus complete looks. The versatility and broad range could distract or confuse some, and you wouldn’t be alone.
Visionary or not, you have to think ahead. Sign of the times, right? So, pre-fall is the transitional period between summer and fall, hence the name, and it encapsulates the grey area between sweating at Noon and shivering by seven. The dresses get a little longer, the shoes become heavier, lace peeks through cropped jackets and the light, figure-hugging knits come out. To me, Pre-Fall is about balance. I think a lace bodysuit with tailored trousers, a cut-out midi dress with dark python mules, and whimsical dresses that move with you.
Pre-Fall lays out a foundation for your Fall/ Winter wardrobe. It’s like a trial run. So when you’re standing in your closet, it’s okay to reach for leather skirts and pair them with lace bodysuits, midi dresses with slinky cut outs and funky patterns. Or Asymmetric shirts to catch that perfect pre-fall breeze and eclectic jewelry that captures the chaos of the changing season. After doing some research of what exactly the transitional season is, I’ve compiled my stars of the show.
Con affetto,
Bella

In fact, if you are late 30’s, male, single, and a go-getter you can email me below.
